How do I finance construction equipment?
Avanti Equipment Finance finances construction equipment, new or used, from a dealer or a private seller: excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and other heavy machines. Every credit profile is considered, including startups and challenged credit, on amounts from $20K to $500K+ with terms up to 72 months, and decisions can come in as little as 24 hours after a quick pre-qualification.
Financing by machine
Excavators, bulldozers, the rest of the yellow iron, dump trucks and cranes each finance a little differently: hours and undercarriage on the iron, model year on the truck, larger tickets structured properly on the cranes. Pick the one you're buying.
- Crane financingRough-terrain, all-terrain, crawler and carry-deck cranes, with larger tickets structured properly.
- Excavator financingMini to large excavators, attachments included. Hours and condition set the term, not a cutoff.
- Bulldozer financingEvery size class of crawler and wheel dozer, blade and grade control included. Undercarriage sets the term.
- Yellow iron financingLoaders, skid steers, backhoes, graders and rollers. Hours and condition set the term, not a cutoff.
- Dump truck financingSingle-axle through tri-axle dump trucks for contractors and haulers.
Finance the machine your next job needs.
Equipment is how you win bids and finish jobs, and the machine you can't afford to buy outright is usually the one the next contract needs. We finance construction and yellow-iron equipment: excavators and mini excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, backhoes, compactors, new or used, from a dealer, an auction or a private seller, across the full credit range.
Keep cash available for the work.
Newer outfits and seasoned contractors alike can get the machine on site without tying up working capital, and keep cash free for fuel, payroll, and the next project.
Buying used equipment?
Used iron is financed every day; the hours and condition set the term, not a blanket rule.
A financing package that fits the machine.
App-only programs skip the tax returns on many deals, and larger purchases are structured with a financial package so the payment fits the work the machine will do. Decisions come back in as little as 24 hours, we coordinate direct payment to the seller, and if equipment you already own can lower the down payment, we'll tell you.

Construction equipment financing at a glance
The program, stated plainly: what qualifies, what it takes, and what to expect.
| Equipment financed | New, used and higher-hour excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, backhoes, compactors and other yellow iron. The term is set by hours, condition and the amount financed, not a blanket model-year cutoff. |
|---|---|
| Where you can buy | Dealers, auctions and private sellers. A private-party purchase gets the same terms as a dealer deal. The title, any lien payoff and direct payment to the seller are handled for you. |
| Credit profiles | Every profile, from A-paper to challenged credit, thin credit, past (discharged) bankruptcy, and startups under two years in business. |
| Amounts and terms | $20,000 to $500,000+ with terms up to 72 months. |
| Down payment | Strong credit and time in business can mean $0 down. Challenged credit (under 600) typically pairs with 30–40% down; there is no blanket model-year rule on iron. Hours and condition set the term. Owned, titled equipment can be pledged to lower the cash at closing, and you'll know the number before you put a deposit on anything. |
| Paperwork | App-only programs with no tax returns on many deals under $300,000. Over $300,000, plan on a financial package: two years of tax returns, a balance sheet, a P&L and bank statements. Bank statements are asked for on smaller deals only when the credit profile calls for them. |
| Decision and funding | Decisions in as little as 24 hours from a short online application. Avanti coordinates funding through its lending partners, paid directly to the seller, usually within a few days, for businesses in 49 states, fully remote. |
Frequently asked questions
What construction equipment can I finance?
Excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, and other yellow-iron and vocational equipment, new or used, from dealers or private sellers.
Do you finance used construction equipment?
Yes. We finance used and older machines, with no model-year cutoff: the term is set by the machine's hours and condition, the amount, and your credit profile.
Can a newer business get approved?
Yes. Startups and businesses under two years old are welcome. A down payment is typically required, and a strong down payment can improve your terms.
Is there any obligation to pre-qualify?
No. Pre-qualifying is free and carries no obligation. You'll see indicative terms for your profile, and you decide whether to move forward.
Do you finance construction equipment bought at auction or from a private seller?
Yes. Auction and private-party purchases are financed with the same terms as a dealer purchase. We verify the machine and the seller, handle the title and any lien payoff, and coordinate direct payment to the seller.
Do machine hours matter on a used excavator or dozer?
They factor in alongside the machine's condition and the amount. Higher-hour machines are financed regularly; the term is set from the unit's remaining working life rather than a fixed cutoff. A recent inspection report strengthens the file.
